Top issues during term (7)
election results
Tight races like this often mean extra costs if a recount is triggered, but day-to-day town spending stays on autopilot.
council censure
Doesn't cost taxpayers a dime directly, though ongoing council drama could distract from actual business.
ethics and misconduct
While there's no direct price tag yet, local taxpayers could end up footing the bill for potential special elections or legal fallout.
student housing limits
Landlords and students could face higher costs if rental caps or new compliance rules drive up housing demand and limit affordable options.
student housing development
It could finally put a dent in sky-high local rents by boosting housing supply.
housing shortage
You'll keep paying through the nose for rent and mortgages until local leaders actually figure out how to build more homes.
livestock ordinance
You might spend a bit upfront on a coop and feed, but you'll save money on grocery store eggs in the long run.
